I like brakes like I like tits, The bigger the better!.

I am replacing the 4 wheel drum master cylinder with a stock one for that year car with discs up front (1972 lemans with front discs). I am not sure if it has enough piston area and volume to use with the B-body calipers I am using. I will post updates on how it works. UPDATE! That MC works just fine, its got a 1" volume.
I am using the proportioning valve from a late 70's GM F-Body (Trans-am, Camaro). I have been told that this has the right 'proportion' from front to back. The old style splitter block that came with the 4 wheel drums is mounted on the frame on the lower part of the drivers side. I am getting rid of that. The Prop-Valve I took off the F-body had a a mounting bracket that mounts it below the master cylinder. I will try it there first, If it doesn't fit I will mount it below where the split block is. UPDATE! I ended up mounting it to the frame because the lines would be longer to run up to under the MC in 1 piece, it was easier to make the break at the frame. Unfortunately its a little close to the exhaust manifold. When I go with SS lines I may have them custom bent to fit to a prop. valve mounted under the MC.
Miscellaneous Parts
Well, the devil is in the details. I have tried to list out the major components with pictures but for these smaller parts I will just list them. I won't give GM part numbers because whenever I take a list of them to Autozone they cannot look it up by the GM part number, so I will just give the specific year and model applications of what I bought. Note : Other years and applications will work, so use this as a rough guide

Calipers - 1984 Chevy Caprice Calipers with police package (12" brakes). Don't forget to get a left and right and install them the right way (They have a big L and R stamped into the back) but notice that the bleeder screw points up when you install them.

Front Brake Hoses - 1972 Chevy Caprice. The brake hoses from your original car are too short. The caprice ones are the right length and they come with the proper 'key' to fit in your stock brackets where they mount to the frame.

Brake Pads - 1996 Chevy Caprice with police package. This car has the '9C1' package where the pads are 30% bigger than standard pads. They fit correctly in the above calipers so I am giving it a shot. Be sure to break them in properly or else they will squeal like Ned Beatty. UPDATE! they work REAL good!

Wheel Nuts - If you are really stupid like me and are using the metric lugs that come with the ILE-1 Rotors, then get 12mm X 1.50 wheel nuts.

Steering Components - While your doing all this, it REALLY makes sense to replace the both sets of inner & Outter tie rods, Drag Link and Idler Arm. Its only about $150 bucks more at an Autozone so I would go for it if I were you. Plus, its only about 2-3 hours more work for you to do so it aint all bad.
